Personal injury attorney Sam Kavathas obtained a record verdict of $935,000.00 for a woman who had her big toe amputated as a result of the medical negligence of her doctor. The defense refused to settle the case for a fair amount and Mr. Kavathas tried the case before a jury and obtained a record verdict that was more than twice the previous high verdict for a woman who lost a big toe. Needless to say, his clients were thrilled with the outcome and the defendant paid the verdict promptly without any appeal.
Sam Kavathas argued a case before the Illinois Supreme Court and the Supreme Court found in his client’s favor setting a legal precedent for all future cases involving that issues. The case was recognized as a landmark decision.
